Student Council of
the Royal School, Cavan
The Student
council, set up in 2005 in the Royal
School, Cavan, meet on a
regular basis every month in order to highlight ways in which the school can be
moved forward in conjunction with the staff and management of the school.
This
meeting is facilitated by the Student council liaison teacher. This role
rotates within the staff every 2-4 years.

place for students to go to if they feel teachers are unapproachable.
List of
Achievements to date
In recent
years the Student Council have initiated/helped with the following projects:
- Purchase of a pool table which
is now the main source of revenue for the council
- Purchase of various sporting
equipment for the school. E.g. Running tops (€400) , Tennis racquets,
Tennis Nets (€730) ECT.
- Putting money towards the
garden furniture in courtyard (€150)
- Contributing money to nominated
charities such as Enable Ireland
& the Romanian Appeal.
- Collecting money each year for
the School sports day
- Raising awareness of issues of
importance with the student body
- Raising concerns to management
of issues of importance to the student body.
- Putting forward representatives from the
school to the Cavan Dail na n`Og
- Purchase of Electronic Notice
board for School €250.
